A message from Detroit's Carl Craig re: DEMF (posted May 24, 2002): Dear Friends, As many of you know, I ceased to work with the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) in any capacity since May 2001. My relationship with the festival ended because of grave personal conflicts, which unfortunately were unavoidable. I wish that circumstances would have been better--but with an event of this magnitude and significance, especially when there are more than 1,000,000 attendees, the glory can be blinding. I encourage you to read the cover story in this week's Metrotimes (free Detroit weekly). It's a shame that such a beautiful event can get run into the ground.
