BiP_HOp's Philippe Petit gives us an update on the latest goings-on at the label:

We have just released the long awaited album from American duo Twine.

Twine: Recorder [bleep 11]
Well worth the wait. It ebbs and flows between abstract beat oriented compositions, dark cut-up neo-classical pieces and epic-ambient-noise guitar sound scapes.

BiP_HOp Generation [v.5] seems to be well appreciated. Thanks to all our subscribers who wrote to give their impression. [v.6] is in preparation and we have already received great music from Scanner, Ilpo Vaisanen, Angel (Vaisanen + Schneider TM), Battery Operated, Alejandra & Aeron. Bittonic is completing her songs, so you can expect the volume sometime in the summer. Hot!

IASTAR: the community of Campus radio, representing 17 radio stations specializing in electronic music all over France, have chosen to give a special support to BiP_Hop. This month they will be giving heavy airplay to BiP_HOp Generation [v.5] and will be offering a radio show by Djip@bip-hop.com. As well as a special on the label, there will be a one hour interview with Philippe Petit backed by songs carefully chosen from our BiP_Hop catalog.

Cray is completing "4 Room" an art installation + his new album. The video of "Forna" enhanced part of "Undo" [bleep 09] will be screened at the Sonar cinema. Seven films by Chris Dooks/Bovine Life will be screened there as well.

Twine and Tennis music has been included in the Datasquare space of the Sonic Process exhibit in Barcelona Spain, curated by the Centre Pompiddou in Paris. The exhibit documents electronic music and culture and features works by Scanner, Coldcut, Alvo Noto, Panasonic, Autechre, Oval, Boards of Canada, and others.

Phase4 has been asked to participate in the prestigious pirateTV.net series that was started by Coldcut and the Ninja Tune heads, so expect to see some upcoming streamed VJed, DJed and live PAed shows from phase4 and Twine.

Our tour of UK went really well, we met great people booking us in Newcastle, Glasgow and Leeds. Highlight/surprise was the amazing improvisation between Scanner + Tonne + Si-cut.db on our second night in London.
