Jason Buckle
Flying Lo-Fi
Rephlex 6/98 [CAT 064]
Jason Buckle is one third of All Seeing I. "Flying Lo-Fi" is one of those releases that batters your senses and screams "pay attention to me", sorta like the school bully who doesn't know how to express him/herself without the aid of a pummeling. Buckle crams 29 tracks on this album and it doesn't go unnoticed. Luckily, just when the quirkiness starts to outquirk the best of us (this is thin Roland beats paired with craziness that results in wacky electro-ish and 4 on the floor-ishness), Buckle throws in a solid slice of music that does beg some notice. --Andrew Duke
